Speaker: Dr. Jennifer Garlen

Julia_Roberts_Cannes_2016_3In 2001, the film "Ocean's Eleven" "introduced" Julia Roberts as an ironic joke; she was already one of the biggest stars in the world, with a Best Actress Oscar for "Erin Brockovich" freshly added to her shelf. Born in Smyrna in 1967, Roberts shot to international fame in the late 1980s and early 90s; her best known films include box office hits like "Steel Magnolias" (1989), "Pretty Woman" (1990), "The Pelican Brief" (1993), and "Notting Hill" (1999). We'll look back at Roberts' life and storied career as the four time Oscar nominee reaches the midcentury mark this October.
