Notice of Property Tax Increase / Current Tax Digest and 5-Year History of Levy
NOTICE OF PROPERTY TAX INCREASE
The City of Smyrna has tentatively adopted a millage rate which will require an increase in property taxes by 5.79 percent.
All concerned citizens are invited to the public hearing on the tax increase to be held at 2800 King Street, Smyrna, Georgia second floor in the Tax Office on July 31, 2017 at 10:00 AM and 6:00 PM.
Times and places of additional public hearings on this tax increase are at 2800 King Street, Smyrna, Georgia second floor in the Tax Office on August 7, 2017 at 10:00 AM.
This tentative increase will result in a millage rate of 8.990 mills, an increase of 0.579 mills. Without this tentative tax increase, the millage rate will be no more than 8.498 mills. The proposed tax increase for a home with a fair market value of $275,000 is approximately $57.90 and the proposed tax increase for non homestead property with a fair market value of $425,000 is approximately $98.43.
CURRENT TAX DIGEST AND 5-YEAR HISTORY OF LEVY
The City of Smyrna Mayor and Council does hereby announce that the millage rate will be set at a meeting to be held at the City Hall Council Chambers, located at 2800 King Street, Smyrna, Georgia, on August 7, 2017 at 7:00 PM, and pursuant to the requirements of O.C.G.A Section 48-5-32 does hereby publish the following presentation of the current year's tax digest and levy, along with the history of the tax digest and levy for the past five years.
