Annual Work Glove Luncheon - Honoring Smyrna’s Outdoor Workers
Keep Smyrna Beautiful's annual Work Glove Luncheon gives special recognition to all the city employees who work tirelessly to maintain the City of Smyrna and deliver the quality services citizens value. The Work Glove Luncheon started in 1987 as a way to show special appreciation to all of the city’s outdoor employees that work hard at successfully keeping the Jonquil City clean, beautiful and thriving. The City of Smyrna and Keep Smyrna Beautiful sponsor the annual event.
Employees from various divisions are honored including Parks and Recreation, Public Works—Sanitation, Streets, the Warehouse, Building and Grounds, Water and Sewer Maintenance, and Fleet Maintenance—Recycling Center, Utilities Department, Traffic Engineering and Code Enforcement.
A total of $3,974 was given in in-kind donations and monetary support for the 2017 Work Glove Luncheon. A special thanks to Advance Disposal, Catered Southern Events, and Kenny’s Great Pies for their part in providing the meal for attendees.
