Not-Just-A-Movie Movie Series

Kids Free Date Night and Art Stroll

May 5

Veteran's Memorial Lawn

The City of Smyrna is partnering with the Smyrna Arts and Cultural Council (SACC) for a fun art stroll and movie date night for adults. The art stroll will begin at 4:00 p.m.  This art stroll will feature local artists selling their work, interactive community projects, Playful Pianos of Smyrna, Recycle Can Makeovers, art demonstrations and theatre.  The movie will begin at dusk.  Adult beverages will be available for purchase.

Enjoy a kids free dinner at one of the delicious restaurants at the market village, stroll through the art and enjoy a fun movie under the stars. 

Feature Film: Date Night with Steve Carell and Tina Fey:  In New York City, a case of mistaken identity turns a bored married couple's attempt at a glamorous and romantic evening into something more thrilling and dangerous. 

This is a free event.

Parent-Free Night

Ages:  3 years - 12 years

While the parents are enjoying an evening under the stars, the kids will be enjoying a fun filled evening at the community center.  We will have activities, crafts, games, food, music and more!

Residents:  $10 for first child/$7 for additional children

Non Residents:  $15 for first child/$9 for additional children

Smyrna Summer Concert Series

June 9:  Alex Guthrie:  This local artist will bring his powerful, soulful vocals and southern charm to this concert.  Folk rock, blues or Americana - his sound is as unique as soul music's southern history.

July 14:  Throwback Experience:  Bring your dancing shoes because the entire family will want to boogie down.  The Southeast's most dedicated, high energy party band promises a musical journey through the 60s, 70s, and 80s.

August 4 (Smyrna Birthday Celebration and Fireworks):  The Mustangs and Banks and Shane:  This day is so big, we had to bring in a second band!  The Mustangs are known for their musicianship and harmonies, this lively 6-piece group covers your favorite music from the past 40 years.  Crowd pleasers Banks and Shane are a high energy, hard kick, blow the roof off band that will have the crown dancing the night away under the stars!

Tables for the June and July concert are $30 (per concert) for residents / $40 (per concert) for non residents.

Tables for the August concert are $40 for residents / $50 for non residents.

Individual concert tables go on sale May 14 (for residents) / May 21 (for non residents).

Parks & Trails

Thanks to the citizens' overwhelming support for the 2005 Parks Bond, the City was able to develop several new parks and improve many others. The proximity to multiple play areas, ball fields, and natural environments helps make the Jonquil City a peaceful place to recreate.

Smyrna Community Center on the Village Green

 The Community Center houses two gymnasiums, fitness equipment, and a walking track. Most of the City-sponsored programs and activities are held in this facility. Rooms and meeting space are available for rent.
 Aline Wolfe Adult Recreation Center Adults age 55 and older have access to their own fitness equipment, exercise classes, and therapy pool at the Aline Wolfe Adult Recreation Center on Church Street.  
Brawner Hall at Taylor-Brawner Park Did you know that Brawner Hall at Taylor-Brawner Park has meeting space? That the Taylor-Brawner House may be a great place for a special event? For more information or contact the Brawner Hall representative at (678) 631-5545 for an appointment.
Aunt Fanny's Cabin Exterior (Smaller) Aunt Fanny's Cabin is an ideal venue for intimate dinner parties or small receptions. Enjoy hardwood floors, antique furnishings, and a modern kitchen. Click the link for photos and rental rates.
